This is the beginning of a journey - the story of an artist turned astronaut, and of the scientists that made possible his mission in outer space.

In a future where mankind further seeks to push the boundaries of worldwide art and culture, a new initiative is created to spread art even beyond our world. In comes the The Jemison Arts and Music in Space Program - or The Jemison Program for short. With this new type of space exploration enterprise, creatives and masters of craft can be trained in human spaceflight all for the purpose of sending and receiving art and culture from other worlds. "Afronautica" tells the story of one such endeavour, with Hip-Hop artists Magnetic The Shaman and ewonee making their test flight aboard the Starflight Afro Blue.

Inspired by former NASA astronaut, engineer, and physician Mae Carol Jemison, as well as science fiction and fantasy writer N. K. Jemisin.
